Pumpkin Trio
Supplies
Directions
-
Paint all three spools
with brown acrylic paint.
-
Cut one circle out of each
style of fabric. One 8", one 10" and one 12".
-
Thread needle with double
thread (12") and knot end. Starting 1/4" in from outside edge and
work on the wrong side of the fabric. Begin making simple
"running or gathering" stitches, continue around the perimeter of
the fabric. If thread becomes too short gather up the fabric.
When the end is reached, gather fabric until there is about a 3"
opening. Do not tie off or cut.
-
Pour about 1/4 cup of poly
pellets into the circle. Begin to stuff with small amounts of
polyfil, pushing toward the outside edge. Continue stuffing until
the desired shape is achieved.
-
Gather up the fabric until
only a small opening for the spool stem remains. Tie into a knot,
twice. Clip thread. Repeat to form the remaining two pumpkins.
-
Cut three 5" lengths of
green wrapped floral wire and twirl them around a pencil. Leave
2"
at the end straight.
-
Using hot glue,
adhere a spool, leaf and wire tendril into each pumpkin.
